With a history far more interesting than most, a city break in Berlin is one that’s guaranteed to be filled with cultural wonder around every corner. Settled in the north of Germany, this incredible short break destination draws hordes of visitors each year, all hoping to experience its cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Berlin boasts more than 300 cinemas, which even for a city of this size is a pretty spectacular claim. Then there’s the 50 theatres, endless fashionable bars and an abundance of restaurants to suit all tastes. The city has managed to find a perfect balance of diverse and on-trend hotspots whilst maintaining its fascinating historical integrity, making it the ideal choice for anyone wanting to discover somewhere new.
Berlin’s landmarks need no introduction really, but for those who know little about the city we’d highly recommend you pay a visit to the infamous Berlin Wall, the iconic Brandenburg Gate, the striking Bauhaus Archive, and the magnificent Reichstag Building.

Travelling to Berlin
Getting to Berlin

Flying to Berlin is the most obvious way to travel, but don't discount rail and road. Teh route itself shows off some of Europe's most beautiful landscapes and can indeed make the short break before you even arrive in Berlin!
By Rail

It’s actually easier than it sounds thanks to the Eurostar! Hop on from London St Pancras to Brussels, then take regional rail to Berlin (approx. 11 hours)
By Road

You could, if you really wanted to, take a road trip to Berlin! Across The Channel, through Belgium and across Northern Germany in a little over 1 hours
By Air

The average flight time from the UK to Berlin is 1 hour 45 minutes, from a range of regional airports

As with most things in Germany, public transport in Berlin is incredibly efficient. The U-Bahns, S-Bahns and trams make for speedy local travel, and driving in such a large city poses less problems than you may expect.
By Bus

With more than 150 bus routes you’re pretty much guaranteed an easy journey wherever you’re trying to get to. Purchase a ticket on the bus itself
By Tram

Again, super frequent and efficient, the 21 routes are the best option for hop-off hop-on travel whilst you’re sightseeing
By Rail

The U-Bahn and S-Bahn services operate a huge selection of routes, and you can buy a Sieben-Tage-Karte ('seven-day ticket') at €26.20 to save money
