The Story

Written by Sam Kenyon, the Miss Littlewood musical follows the life of Joan Littlewood and her influence on English theatre. The musical shows Joan Littlewood for the perfect character that she was - an unapologetic theatre director who was born into poverty and made her way to the top due to her frank and fiery personality. Aside from the humour and the love which is clear for Joan in the musical, at the centre of it all is a beautiful love story.

History of Miss Littlewood

Uncontrolled by convention, Joan Littlewood made her way in life her own way and was a major influencer in English theatre. Called “The Mother of Modern Theatre”, Joan has been responsible for many successes in her time including the 1963 play, “Oh, What a Lovely War!” Miss Littlewood was written to recognise Joan’s constant achievements throughout her life, along with the love and support that she has had by so many. A beautiful to tribute one of the best names in modern theatre.
