Kinky Boots - Cardiff Theatre Show Information

Enjoy the sass and stilettos of Kinky Boots, a story of adversity and empowerment.

About Kinky Boots

A joyous celebration of unlikely friendships and world-changing ideas, Kinky Boots the Musical teaches us that sometimes the best way to fit in is to stand out. With direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Legally Blonde, Hairspray), this award-winning show is certain to impress audiences on this side of the Atlantic too – don’t miss Kinky Boots the Musical in Cardiff this year.

The Story

Inspired by a true story, the musical takes us to the shoe-making town of Northampton, where young businessman Charlie Price is struggling to live up to his father's legacy, and desperately trying to keep up the family business. With the factory’s future hanging in the balance, help arrives in a pair of high-heeled stilettos, as fabulous performer Lola struts into Charlie’s life demanding a sturdier set of shoes.

History of Kinky Boots

The winner of six Tony Awards, and a certified hit on Broadway, Kinky Boots the Musical is finally transferring to Cardiff; this hotly anticipated show, adapted from the popular British film, is uplifting, funny and must be seen. With songs by Grammy and Tony-winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, and a book by multiple Tony-winner Harvey Fierstein, the show has a wealth of creative talent behind it.
