Chicago The Musical London provides the ultimate West End experience, and has wowed audiences worldwide with its compelling story and iconic soundtrack, including hits 'Cellblock Tango' and 'All That Jazz'. The theatre show is now making a triumphant return to London at the famous Phoenix Theatre. Don't miss Martin Kemp as smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn. Mazz Murray will be playing Mama Morton from 2 July until 11 August. Alexandra Burke will be joining the cast of CHICAGO as Roxie Hart! Alexandra will begin performances from 13th August.
Chicago tells the tale of fame, fortune and 'all that jazz' in an unforgettable extravaganza of dance, music and scandal. Chorus show girl, Roxie Hart is riddled with an obsession and desire for fame. When her husband discovers she is having an affair, Roxie is driven to kill her lover and runs away to get her name in lights. Roxie climbs her way to the top by turning herself into a celebrity criminal, and once she reaches the top, she makes sure nothing and nobody will get in her way.
History of Chicago The Musical London
Based on the 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, the original Broadway production of Chicago opened in 1975 at New York’s 46th Street Theatre and has been New York’s longest running musical ever since. Chicago was once again brought to Broadway in 1996 and followed one year later on London’s West End. Now showing at the Phoenix Theatre, there is also a famous film adaptation of the classic play which was released in 2002, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere.Star of RuPaul’s Drag Race, American Idol and YouTube sensation Todrick Hall will star as Billy Flynn in CHICAGO from 19th November 2018 until the end of the show’s run at the Phoenix Theatre on 5th January 2019.
